Petition Action

Remove Toby Young as a board member on the new Office for Students watchdog.

Petition Details

Based on his sexist and homophobic behaviour as demonstrated on his twitter account, Toby Young holds the kind of negative views of women, disabled and working class students that shows that he would not be representing the best interests of students from all backgrounds and needs.

Additional Information

In 2012, he wrote for The Spectator about the “ghastly” need for schools to be inclusive by having things like wheelchair ramps.

In 2011, he wrote a blog for The Spectator, condemning a school in Stoke Newington for celebrating LGBT rights with a week of lessons focussed on the issue.

His now-deleted tweet saying he had his “d**k up her a**e”, in reference to Padma Lakshmi, who was his fellow judge on US TV show Top Chef at the time.
