Raise the legal age to purchase alcohol to 21
In the UK, there have been several recent (November 07) studies released that show an increasing statistical trend in both drug and alcohol abuse affecting young people and their safety.
It is estimated that the NHS in England alone spends £2.7billion per year on alcohol-related hospital admissions.
53,844 people under the age of 25 in England alone were admitted to hospital due to alcohol related problems in 2006-07
10% of drivers below the age of 24 admitted in a survey conducted by Auto trader in 2007 admitted that they regularly drove their cars whilst under the influence of drink.
Raising the legal age of drinking will reduce NHS costs and Anti social behavior.
