Acid crime must be re-categorised to reflect it's severity on victims.

Petition Details

Acid crime has increased 500% over the last few years and it's punishment is grossly incompatible with the life changing effects it has on victims.

It is an horrific crime than warrants the most severe penalty and must be so serious, it will deter those who would seek to commit such an offence.

This petition was rejected

The Government e-Petitions Team gave the following reason:

Petitions need to call on the Government or Parliament to take a specific action.

We're not sure exactly what you mean by "acid crime must be re-categorised".

If you'd like there to be a mandatory life sentence for acid attacks, you may wish to sign this petition instead:

petition.parliament.uk/petitions/201382

Otherwise, you could start a new petition explaining clearly what you would like the Government or Parliament to do.
