Prevent and deter the exploitation of factory workers in third world countries.
I ask that the Government increase the regulation and monitoring of fashion retailers, to ensure the welfare of factory workers are prioritised.
After recent outrage surrounding the exploitation of garment workers in third world countries, I am asking the government to impose restrictions on the volume of offshoring. As an industry, retailers respond rather than prevent. They no longer prioritise the welfare of employees instead prioritise cutting costs. Fashion monopolies continue to grow and maximise profit but lack the interest of re-investing into a community (specifically within third world countries).

The Government e-Petitions Team gave the following reason:
Petitions need to call on the Government or Parliament to take a specific action.
We understand that you're concerned about the exploitation of factory workers, but we're not sure exactly what action you'd like the Government or Parliament to take.
You could start a new petition explaining clearly what you would like the Government or Parliament to do.
