Increase UK maternity leave to 20 weeks’ full pay & paternity to minimum wage
The only European country offering less decently-paid maternity leave is Ireland, where mums do not get any decently-paid time off.
UK mothers get only six weeks of statutory maternity pay at 90% of their wage while in Europe the avg for well-paid leave is 43 weeks.

The Government e-Petitions Team gave the following reason:
Petitions need to call on the Government or Parliament to take a specific action.
We understand that you're concerned about maternity and paternity leave and pay, but we're not sure exactly what you'd like the Government or Parliament to do. We're not sure exactly what you mean by "paternity to minimum wage".
You could start a new petition explaining clearly what you would like the Government or Parliament to do.
