The government ought to levy a tax on cats and cat owners
"Cats kill an extraordinarily high number of birds in British gardens" said David Attenborough. It is true. We would have so many beautiful animals in our gardens if it was not for cats.
The government should discourage people from owning cats through a tax. The tax would be progressive and based on income and wealth but the aim should be to reduce the British Cat Ownership to the level of British People who own lizards.

The Government e-Petitions Team gave the following reason:
Petitions need to call on the Government or Parliament to take a specific action.
We understand that you'd like the Government to discourage people from owning cats by introducing a new tax, but we're not sure exactly how you'd like this to work.
You could start a new petition explaining clearly what you would like the Government or Parliament to do.
