Petition Action

Make planting trees a priority to reduce flooding by improving soil & drainage.

Petition Details

Many places flood as water levels rise. Flood defences are not the only answer. Planting trees near the water will help keep the water levels down & make drainage better with their roots. We must plant more trees to help flooding, help maintain our weather & give nature a home. Plant more, save more

This petition was rejected

The Government e-Petitions Team gave the following reason:

Petitions need to call on the Government or Parliament to take a specific action. We're not sure what you'd like the Government or Parliament to do to "make planting trees a priority".

If you would like "every person in the UK to be given a tree to plant to reverse UK deforestation", you might like to sign this petition instead:

petition.parliament.uk/petitions/203725

If you would like to "make it law for all companies to plant three trees for every one they cut down", you might like to sign this petition instead:

petition.parliament.uk/petitions/208569

You could start also a new petition explaining clearly what you would like the Government or Parliament to do.
