Close planning loophole that allows homes to be converted to care homes

Petition Details

Make "Assisted Living" a category subject to planning regulation & approval, including drug, alcohol & mental health rehab. Planning regulations need urgently to be amended to protect private residential property owners.

Additional Information

Local authorities can be powerless to stop homes being converted into care homes because the law is not clear enough. A new "Assisted Living" category would give local authorities and local residents proper powers to challenge new care homes being set up.
