Renew the Fibresand surface at Southwell Racecourse when the course is relaid.
Southwell is the sole all-weather racecourse in the country to race on a Fibresand surface. Arena Racing Company (Arc), which owns the course, is considering changing the Fibresand surface at the Nottinghamshire track. This would leave a number of trainers with nowehere suitable to run their horses.
Of the 6 all-weather racecourses in the UK, Southwell is the only with a Fibresand surface.
Many trainers rely on the surface at Southwell, and some would go out of business without it.
In summary, many horses bought to race in the UK are US dirt bred horses, perfect for racing at Southwell, field sizes are always healthy at the course, races are truly run with the best horses coming out on top and the surface is kind to the horse.
