Pension rules must be the same for politicians and judiciary as everyone else?
Unfair that politicians and the judiciary should get exemptions on the AA and LTA when other people have to pay big taxes.
Many people are limiting or cashing in pensions because they cannot afford the unfair and constantly changing taxes on pensions. If it is fair it should apply to all? Why are rich MPs and Judges allowed to dodge this tax?
You can't sign this petition because it was rejected. But you can still comment on it here at Repetition.me!
The Government e-Petitions Team gave the following reason:
Petitions need to call on the Government or Parliament to take a specific action. MPs’ pensions are not exempt from the AA and LTA, so we're not sure what action you'd like the Government or Parliament to take.
Judges who are members of the Judges Pension Scheme 1993 are exempt, but members of the New Judicial Pension Scheme introduced in April 2015 are not.
You could start a new petition explaining clearly what you would like the Government or Parliament to do. For example, you could start a new petition asking the Government and Parliament to change the rules on pensions for judges.
