Assure pre-slaughter stunning for all farmed fish in animal welfare legislation.
Unlike their mammalian counterparts, fish do not have specific humane slaughter procedures enshrined in animal welfare legislation.
Most farmed UK trout, salmon and flatfish are stunned by electronarcosis before slaughter - we would insist on this being made law for all farmed fish in the UK.
