Both parents to be named on the child's birth certificate
For many years I’ve been refused access to my daughter. I have no rights as the mother wouldn’t put me on the birth certificate. There are thousands of parents - women and men - that have no parental rights due to not being on the birth certificate. Put yourself in our shoes.
You can't sign this petition because it was rejected. But you can still comment on it here at Repetition.me!
The Government e-Petitions Team gave the following reason:
Petitions need to call on the Government or Parliament to take a specific action.
A parent who is not on the birth certificate can already re-register a child’s birth and add the father's details, whether or not the mother co-operates, so we're not sure what else you'd like the Government and Parliament to do.
You can find out more about how to do that here:
www.gov.uk/government/publications/application-to-re-register-a-childs-birth-and-add-the-natural-fathers-details
You can find out more about how to get legal help here:
www.citizensadvice.org.uk/law-and-courts/legal-system/taking-legal-action/help-with-legal-costs-free-or-affordable-help/
You could start a new petition explaining clearly what you would like the Government or Parliament to do.
