Petition Action

Change child family laws to recognise emotional impacts, abuse and child neglect

Petition Details

As a mother and teacher I have seen the impact parents can have by abandoning their parental roles to children and walking in and out of their lives as they see fit. It is a form of emotional abuse and neglect. But happens only too often because parents get away with it. There should be a stand.

Additional Information

Lots of these parents will try every way to get out of their responsibilities, and don't actually care about their childrens wellbeing but continue to have more. The law needs to recognised the impact and the facts it is emotional abuse towards the child and neglect when a child is abandoned by a parwnt. Cafcass and Family Court system does not work because lots of parents are trying to alienate each other and point score. Children are the victims. Say no to emotional abuse and neglect.

This petition was rejected

The Government e-Petitions Team gave the following reason:

Petitions need to call on the Government or Parliament to take a specific action. We understand that you're concerned about the emotional impact of abuse and child neglect, but we're not sure what specific action you'd like Government or Parliament to take.

If you'd like parental alienation to be a crime, you might like to sign this petition instead:

You could also start a new petition explaining clearly what you would like the Government or Parliament to do.
