Make it illegal to pay men more than women
Recent events have highlighted the inequality between men and women in the work place. To erradicate the pay gap and create a more equal society, we should adopt a law that makes it illegal for men to receive a higher salary than women. A similar law was successfully introduced in Iceland.
As a world leader both economically and socially, we should join Iceland in being one of the pioneers of introducing a law to erradiacte pay inequality between men and women in order to ensure social equality. The United Kingdom should show its seriousness in creating a more equal society.
A report by the World Economic Forum last year found that women are paid on average 58% less than men and it was predicted that it would 217 years to reach total equality at social progress's current rate.
