Enforce Order 2016 and hold pharmacy owners to account for prescription errors.
The motivation to start this petition is after BBC coverage: Boots pharmacists raise staffing concerns; Boots Pharmacist under Pressure? ‘Frazzled’ Boots pharmacist mixed up patient’s pills.
Pharmacists describe a toxic work culture and fear of reprisal, this has compromised patient safety.
The documentary ‘Pharmacist under pressure?’ highlighted three fatal cases. The serious case review reported a failure of individual pharmacists as a direct cause of the avoidable errors in drug dispensation. Only in one case were the owners of the premise held accountable (vicarious liability). Pharmacists must be provided with the minimum time and resources to prevent these errors. Order 2016 will improve patient safety by holding pharmacy owners to account and not just scapegoat individuals.

The Government e-Petitions Team gave the following reason:
Petitions need to call on the Government or Parliament to take a specific action.
We understand that you're concerned about prescription errors, but we're not sure exactly what you'd like the Government or Parliament to do.
You could start a new petition explaining clearly what you would like the Government or Parliament to do.
