Scrap MCS
At a cost of between £5000 and £8000 per year for an installer to remain on the MCS register not counting hidden costs in time and stress to the installer, the MCS (Microgeneration Certification Scheme) is the single biggest barrier to growth in the Renewables industry. If the UK is to meet the requirements of the Kyoto protocol agreement in the time allowed the MCS nees to be scrapped for businesses under 50 employees. If installers already have the qualifications and insurance why is this expensive and burdensome system required?
