The right of the people of West Papua to have self-determination
For nearly 50 years the people of West Papua have suffered under an Indonesian military occupation since being colonised. An estimated 400,000 people have died, and flying the West Papua flag can earn you 15 years in jail.
I ask our MP's to debate the UK's position in supporting Indonesia's territorial integrity over West Papua, and the right of the people of West Papua to have self-determination under international law.
