Enforcement of Employment Tribunal Awards.
Employment Tribunal Awards can only be recovered if the whereabouts of the present or former Employer are known. Action to recover such Awards fail if there is no known address at which a Summons can be served. It should be possible for the appropriate Tribunal, whether Criminal or Civil, to trace and obtain the details of such a person's whereabouts through their National Insurance Number or Inland Revenue details, whichever is applicable. Only Redundancy Payments are at presently recoverable, often leaving much larger amounts outstanding. It should be a Legal requirement that contact details must be made known for a period of up to three years following the making of any such Award. Failure to provide such contact details should be punishable in an appropriate way, including action under the Fraud Act where appropriate. If necessary deductions from earnings/income could be made by the appropriate Authority.
