Introduce self-defence classes for young women into the National Curriculum
Introduce self-defence classes into the National Curriculum to assist young women in successfully defending themselves against an attacker.
Everyday in the UK, thousands of women are subjected to abuse and attacks on their person. Since society will not change its attitude towards women, teaching them ‘not to attract unwanted attention’ instead of teaching our young men ‘not to attack.’ Professional self-defence classes may allow a greater number of women to successfully defend themselves against an attacker. Self-defence is a non-violent activity; it teaches protection of the person.
