Petition Action

Give students the right to freedom of appearance in regards to hair in schools.

Petition Details

Students in most state schools are expected to follow an unnecessary set of guidelines in relation to their appearance. Many of these guidelines prohibit certain lengths, colours and styles of what the student can have. There is no educational benefit to these guidelines whatsoever.

Additional Information

Schools have a duty to promote and ensure their students have a positive mental well being, and by preventing a student for feeling happy with their appearance is NOT promoting the ethos of any good state school.

All students appreciate that formality is required due to reputation in all schools and accept all behavioural guidelines set to them, but taking control of a students appearance is too controlling and doesn't give the students the Freedom Of Expression that they deserve.
