Regulate couriers or offer a choice to online consumers

Petition Details

Couriers are unregulated in the United Kingdom. Complaints to couriers can be rejected with no further action or compensation. Consumers in the UK are not provided with a choice of courier when placing an online order. We should be protected from a poor service, loss or damage.

Additional Information

Online polls highlight that consumers in the UK are dissatisfied with the service provided by couriers. The following statistics are taken from Trustpilot:
DPD has a poor rating. Of 15,061 reviews, 58% of customers rate the service they received as poor or bad.
Parcel Force has a poor rating. Of 6,013 reviews, 68% of customers rate the service they received as poor or bad.
Yodel has an average rating. Of 60,672 reviews, 35% of customers rate the service they received as poor or bad.

This petition was rejected

The Government e-Petitions Team gave the following reason:

Petitions need to call on the Government or Parliament to take a specific action.

We understand that you're concerned about the regulation of couriers, but we're not sure exactly what you'd like the Government or Parliament to do.

You could start a new petition explaining clearly what you would like the Government or Parliament to do.

You'll need to give your full name to start a petition.
