Stop the genetically modified organisms (GMO) in the UK

Petition Details

What is a GMO?
Genetically modified organisms (GMOs) are living organisms whose genetic material has been artificially manipulated in a laboratory through genetic engineering. This creates combinations of plant, animal, bacteria, and virus genes that do not occur in nature.

Additional Information

A growing body of evidence connect GMOs with health problems, environmental damage, and violation of farmers' and consumers' rights.

The Government e-Petitions Team gave the following reason:

We're not sure exactly what you mean by "Stop the genetically modified organisms (GMO) in the UK".

You could start a new petition explaining clearly what you would like the Government or Parliament to do. For example, you might want to ask the Government to ban the growing of GM crops in the UK. Alternatively, you might want to ask for a ban on the sale and production of genetically modified foods.
