Child Benefit should be the same regardless of when the child was born
If you had your first child before April 2017 you get £20.70 per week, if you did not you get £13.70. Isnt this completely unfair to all those who have had one child after this date?
Why not make it all children now get £13.70 regardless of when born or all first borns still get £20.70 per week
I feel this unfair, how is it that just because my child was born May 2017 i now dont get £20.70 yet those born April 2017 do. I feel all children should now be on £13.70 for the sake of fairness. Fairness to all those future children and families. If £13.70 is to be the normal first child payment, make it normal for all families across the UK.

The Government e-Petitions Team gave the following reason:
Petitions need to call on the Government or Parliament to take a specific action.
We're not sure exactly what you'd like the Government or Parliament to do. In particular, we're not sure what you mean by "If £13.70 is to be the normal first child payment, make it normal for all families across the UK".
The payment for a first child is £20.70. The payment for a second child is £13.70. We're therefore not sure what action you want the UK Government or Parliament to take. You can find out more about child benefit rates here:
www.gov.uk/child-benefit-rates
You could start a new petition explaining clearly what you would like the Government or Parliament to do.
