Make Stephen Hawking's birthday a national day to celebrate his achievements.
Stephen Hawking was one of the greatest minds our generation will ever see. He was stricken by motor neurone disease but still made great advances as a theoretical physisist. Celebrating his life by making his birthday a national day will inspire others with motor diseases to follow their dreams.
Stephen Hawkings Birthday : 08/01/1942
Hawking once said "I’m not afraid of death, but I’m in no hurry to die. I have so much I want to do first." That man achieved more in his troubled life than mostvof us will ever dream to achieve combined. He is an inspiration to the disabled and other great minds. He is the best thing to be produced in Great Britain in our generation and he should be celebrated for his achievements in theoretical physics and the study of the universe.

The Government e-Petitions Team gave the following reason:
We're not sure exactly what you mean by a "national day". We're not sure whether you'd like there to be a new public holiday, or whether you'd like something different.
You could start a new petition explaining clearly what you would like the Government or Parliament to do.
