Close self-employed loophole by non-resident parents paying child maintenance.
The Child Maintenance Service currently only uses HMRC records to calculate child maintenance to be paid by non-resident parents. This is fine for those in employment paying PAYE. Self-employed individuals are using a loophole to pay themselves a minimum wage and thus avoiding paying maintenance.

The Government e-Petitions Team gave the following reason:
Petitions need to call on the Government or Parliament to take a specific action.
We understand that you're concerned that self-employed people may not be paying the right amount of child maintenance, but we're not sure exactly what changes you'd like to see.
You could start a new petition explaining clearly what you would like the Government or Parliament to do.
