Fully fund awareness training of local council health officers at every level to recognise their obligations to enforce prosecutions of slum rogue landlords when issuing improvement notices.Vulnerable tenants and families are placed at greater risk of exploitation by current legislation.

Additional Information

Local authories work with slum landlords by communicating direct with them instead of engaging with and involving the tenant throughout.
This process needs to be more transparent with accountability at every stage .
Private sector tenants are disenfranchised by the current legislation.
This allows slum landlords to bypass the tenants concerns and issues and communicate directly with local councils and place vulnerable tenants at risk.Council staff EHOs need more training at every level
