Ban on the sale and production of genetically modified foods (GMO).
Genetically modified organisms (GMOs) are living organisms whose genetic material has been artificially manipulated in a laboratory through genetic engineering.
A growing body of evidence connects GMOs with health problems, environmental damage, and violation of farmers’ and consumers’ rights.

The Government e-Petitions Team gave the following reason:
We're not sure exactly what you'd like the Government or Parliament to do. GM foods are not currently grown commercially in the UK, but certain ones can be imported. You can find out more information here:
www.gov.uk/food-safety-as-a-food-distributor/genetically-modified-foods
You could start a new petition explaining clearly what you would like the Government or Parliament to do - for example, you could call for a UK-wide ban on imported GM foods.
