Petition Action

SSHD to reform s/322(5) of the General Immigration Rules on Tax cases

Petition Details

Migrants who have been on Tier 1 General visa, following stringent rules have been denied settlement, alleging 'dishonesty and deceit' when the application involves a tax correction. These are past tax affairs & where any discrepancy was found by the applicant, they have been settled with HMRC.

Additional Information

Number of Economic Migrants are suffering throughout the country.Affected in this are NHS doctors,Lawyers,Lecturers,IT professionals,Medical technicians,Engineers,Teachers etc.
Refusals are made under 322(5) of the General Immigration Rules- which has a very high threshold and was mainly made for terrorists/criminals.It is absolutely absurd to put law-abiding professionals in the same category.

This petition was rejected

The Government e-Petitions Team gave the following reason:

We understand that you'd like to see changes to the immigration rules, but we're not sure exactly what you'd like the Government or Parliament to do.

You could start a new petition explaining clearly what you would like the Government or Parliament to do.
