GIVE CONTRACT TO PRINT THE BLUE PASSPORT TO A UK COMPANY
Nothing is more symbolic of national identity than a passport - "Her Britannic Majesty's Secretary of State Requests and requires in the Name of Her Majesty ..." etc. etc. There are precedents to other nations keeping passport printing in nation for security reasons; the UK should follow suit.
1. UK passports are required by tens of millions of people; the cost of printing them is borne by UK citizens - the revenue and profit from this should be gained by a UK based company
2. the UK has a long and excellent tradition of secure document printing
3. other countries keep passport printing as a national activity for various reasons, including some EU countries
