Allow UK citizens to adopt disabled children from abroad.
There are many children all over the world mainly in third world countries that are abandoned and neglected at birth due to having a disability. These children are placed into orphanages and institutions where they are subjected to multiple forms of abuse, starvation and neglect in many forms.
Due to UK legislations UK citizens are unable to adopt children internationally that have disability’s. You are only able to adopt these children if you live in the US. We believe this is unfair, every child should have the right to a loving stable family no matter what. We are petitioning parliment to change the legislation to allow UK citizens to give these children a fighting chance. There are some amazing families here who could give these children amazing lives. PLEASE GIVE US THAT CHANCE.
You can't sign this petition because it was rejected. But you can still comment on it here at Repetition.me!
The Government e-Petitions Team gave the following reason:
We're not sure exactly what you'd like the Government or Parliament to do. Although there are certain rules and restrictions, it is already legal to adopt a child from overseas.
