Reduce the financial requirement for a UK spouse visa.
As someone who has a non-european spouse, I am just bamboozled and frustrated at the requirement and amount of documents required. It seems arbitrary, burdensome and unfair.
1) Arbitrary:
http://www.migrationobservatory.ox.ac.uk/resources/reports/the-minimum-income-requirement-for-non-eea-family-members-in-the-uk-2/ ) (there is also no such requirement on European spouses)
2) Burdensome: the documents required can be very comprehensive ( https://migrate.org.uk/spouse-visa-uk-2018/ )
3) people living in some areas are inherently disadvantaged because the average wage is lower than the 18,6k amount ( https://www.theguardian.com/news/datablog/2011/nov/24/wages-britain-ashe-mapped )
