Return funding for sixth form students for the last three financial years
The amount £135 million in 2014/15, £132 million in 2015/16 and £106 million in 2016/17 that was not spent would be invaluable in improving the quality of our education, and colleges across England have joined this campaign in order to claim it back.
Unable to provide essential opportunities deprives state educated students the ability to gain crucial skills which more advantaged students in private schools and colleges have already developed. As a result, the social mobility which has been a goal of every recent government is undermined from the start. This means we simply cannot aspire to achieve what our more privileged peers will achieve except in exceptional circumstances.
