Public Enquiry into Barclays Bank Plc's computer problems in 2008
In 2013, Barclays Bank Plc notified the Office of Fair Trading that 'technical documentary errors' caused mistakes with their paperwork which affected customer's accounts going back as far as 2008. Barclay's error resulted in many customers not in arrears, receiving statements containing errors.
Barclays Bank's problems happened at the height of the global financial crisis when many homes were being repossessed for being in mortgage arrears. According to a Guardian newspaper article at the time, repossessions had hit a twelve year high, with 'home buyers losing 40,000 properties in 2008'.

The Government e-Petitions Team gave the following reason:
Petitions need to call on the Government or Parliament to take a specific action. We're not sure what such a public inquiry would look into.
In any case, the UK Parliament and Government aren't responsible for investigating the computer problems of individual banks.
You could start a new petition explaining clearly what you would like the Government or Parliament to do.
