The NHS should Abandon Psycholinguistics as a Diagnostic Tool for Mental Illness
The NHS responded to Staffing Shortages in Psychiatry by recruiting people from overseas who satisfy the GMC's IELTS test. But traditions are different elsewhere. And Office Language Skills are too formal and restrictive.Everyone seems crazy if you don't speak their language: Misdiagnoses increase.
The idea that the way people talk can indicate their Mental Health is flawed. In the Modern Era there have been more opportunities for younger generations thanks to the Internet, Gadgets & Computer Skills. And so people make achievements that an older generation would find unlikely. However, just because something is unlikely does not mean it is Delusional, if proof can be presented in person or on Websites.Ethically, it is a big deal to disrupt someone's life on a whim.NHS staff are too hardened.
