Disqualify from Parliament if in receipt of payments from a foreign government.
Receipt of payments from a foreign government is a huge conflict of interest and should not be permitted in our supreme lawmakers. Those currently in this position must be ask to resign or permanently revoke these payments.
Recent events in the House of Lords have shown that members who are in receipt of payments from the EU and who have sworn allegiance to the EU are mostly unable to be unbiased. It is not proper for a person who has sworn allegiance to a foreign government to serve as member in either house in Parliament.
You can't sign this petition because it was rejected. But you can still comment on it here at Repetition.me!
The Government e-Petitions Team gave the following reason:
Petitions need to call on the Government or Parliament to take a specific action.
We're not sure exactly what you'd like the Government or Parliament to do. We're not sure if you're concerned about payments from foreign governments, or payments from the European Union.
You could start a new petition explaining clearly what you would like the Government or Parliament to do. For example, you could ask for people to be disqualified from being an MP if they are receiving payments from a foreign government, or receiving payments from the EU.
