Stop using schools as polling stations
There are many church halls, community centres, & empty shops, so why are we still using schools on polling day? We are putting our children's safety at risk.
Every other day of the year, we have locked gates, cctv in reception, buzzer systems on doors however on polling days we let anyone enter a school full of innocent children.
You can't sign this petition because it was rejected. But you can still comment on it here at Repetition.me!
The Government e-Petitions Team gave the following reason:
We can't accept your petition because the issue you raise is not the responsibility of the Government or Parliament. It's the responsibility of local councils to decide where polling stations should be.
You could start a new petition asking Parliament to change the law to ban local councils from using schools as polling stations, if that's what you would like to happen.
