It is time to abolish the House of Lords
The House of Lords are an unelected body and hence an undemocratic organisation which should be abolished.
The members of the House of Lords are an unelected body and hence an undemocratic organisation which should be abolished.
It is time for the general public to whom they are responsible to have a voice in these matters discussed there and we need elected representatives like in a Senate who should not hold the post for more than 10 years. It has come to a stage to start talking about the abolition of the House of Lords and any delay would raise anger among the public.
For those who don't know, there are currently over 800 peers, and many more to join soon. This is far too many. A proportion of seats should be reserved for members from different fields like Education, Health, Arts, Environment, Trade and Industry etc.
