Petition Action

Give all UK citizens the right to a non-binding vote on parliamentary debates.

Petition Details

Citizens already have the right to view almost all parliamentary debates online.

Add a simple voting mechanism for the public to vote.

Build digital infrastructure on parliament.uk which allows those with UK citizenship a non-binding vote (‘aye’/‘no’/abstain) on all debates in parliament.

Additional Information

This is a crude solution to the issue of representative democracy versus direct democracy in the UK.

Many citizens feel as though a vote on who should represent them in parliament every five years isn’t democratic enough.

is better than the current system, sign this petition.
