I suggest that it should be subject to a referendum.
Whilst there is undoubtedly justification for the UK to support less fortunate countries on an on going basis, it seems that we give large amounts of hard earned tax payers money to country's with better finances than we our selves have.
An example;
Britain's foreign aid budget is being used to cut smoking in China and keep homes in India cool rather than going to the world’s poorest countries, a Government watchdog warns today.
Ministers are accused of dishing out a £1.5billion fund for international research projects ‘in haste’ instead of making sure it is targeted at those most in need.
