Prevent public bodies paying for private police companies like My Local Bobby
Due to cuts to policing budgets the private sector has stepped in to provide civilian policing services in the form of companies like "My Local Bobby". As their staff have been trained by the public purse already we the undersigned believe they should not profit from public sector/council contracts.

The Government e-Petitions Team gave the following reason:
Petitions need to call on the Government or Parliament to take a specific action. We're not sure whether you'd like public bodies to stop hiring private security firms or whether you'd like changes to how private security firms are regulated to stop them from implying they are a police force.
At the moment, security guards are regulated by the Security Industry Authority. You can find out more about the SIA here:
