Petition Action

Allow watching/Recording Live TV (as long as not BBC content) without a licence.

Petition Details

Its strange that these days you have no choice but to receive BBC broadcasts from your Virgin/Sky Box (you have no choice).
CNN/Sky News get no funding from this licence. Why must we pay a licence when broadcasts (excluding the BBC) that we watch that don't receive any of the funding anyway?

This petition was rejected

The Government e-Petitions Team gave the following reason:

Petitions need to call on the Government or Parliament to take a specific action. We're not sure whether you want to change the rules about TV licences or whether you'd like a change to what channels people can receive.

You could start a new petition explaining clearly what you would like the Government or Parliament to do.

If you would like to abolish the TV licence, you might like to sign this petition instead:
