Abolish after school detentions

Petition Details

After school activities can be as valuable to a child's education as school, and the school system does not work for everyone. Alternative sanctions in school time could be introduced without hindering after school time.

This petition was rejected

The Government e-Petitions Team gave the following reason:

At the moment, it's up to schools to decide on detentions.

If you'd like the Government to set rules for schools, or give guidance on what sanctions should be used, you could start a new petition explaining clearly what you would like the Government or Parliament to do.
