Make GCSE English Literature Optional
As many people have already decided at this stage (roughly) know what profession they want to go into so English Literature (e.g. analysis of poems) will never be a necessity for many pupils. So therefore all the hours spent learning how to analyse poetry and literature will be useless to them.
