Any parent unpaying maintenance to the resident parent to be penalised
Why should the non-resident parent be able to stop work and stay out of work and allow the resident parent to carry 100% of the financial burden. Why is there no punishment if one parent is failing to pay a suitable amount each month

It’s not clear what the petition is asking the UK Government or Parliament to do.
Prison can already be a consequence of failing to pay child maintenance, so we're not sure exactly what you would like to change.
