20 MPH speed limit on North Carriage Drive, Hyde Park
North Carriage Drive cuts through an extremely vulnerable and busy area of Hyde Park. At Albion Gate, pedestrians, including many children, dog walkers, tourists, cyclists and riders, have no option but to cross in order to enter the park.
There is currently a 30 mph speed limit, which is often ignored.
Preventable accidents are happening and following the recent death of a much-loved dog, hit at high speed by a car last Tuesday , it is time to demand a 20 mph speed limit, bringing this into line with many nearby areas. It has been proven that lowering the speed limit saves lives.
It was a dog this time - how long before it is a child?
