Remove from local authorities the power to impose CCTV penalties
Currently many local authorities are issuing fixed penalty notices via use of CCTV surveillance of roads, in a manner specifically designed to increase the council's income.
We ask that CCTV should only be used where there is a reasonable history of dangerous situations and that the use of CCTV to impose fixed penalties should be clearly marked and said markings should clearly specify what specific contraventions are being monitored.
