Petition Action

Make animal abuse reportable on UK operating social media platforms

Petition Details

Animal abuse is prolific on social media shared by members of the public and large social media pages. Currently it is not possible to report animal abuse images/videos on many social media sites. Viral posts harm individual animals and contribute to illegal trade, causing near extinctions.

This petition was rejected

The Government e-Petitions Team gave the following reason:

We can't accept your petition because the UK Government and Parliament aren't responsible for the issue you raise. This is the responsibility of social media companies.

You could start a new petition asking the Government to urge social media companies to take this action.
