Petition Action

Move U.S news to it's own tab on BBC, prioritising national and local coverage.

Petition Details

Almost every time I check BBC news, specifically online, there are numerous articles covering U.S. politics, culture etc. in central focus whilst more relevant U.K. news get pushed down the list.
I think this causes a dilution and can be quite distracting to what is happening nationally and locally

Additional Information

This is the case more often then not, there are times when what I've described isn't the case but it's on the rarer occasion.

If you'd like, check BBC over a period of a few days and see for yourself.

This petition was rejected

The Government e-Petitions Team gave the following reason:

The BBC is an independent body governed by a Royal Charter. Under the terms of that Charter, the BBC is operationally and editorially independent of government and there is no provision for the government to intervene in the BBC’s day-to-day operations.

You might like to write to the BBC to make this suggestion.
