Petition Action

Make charities show the percentage of their revenue going to charity.

Petition Details

Many charities are taking money but actually using most of it on things like advertising. Although I don’t find anything wrong with using a portion of it in order to collect more there should either be a cap or charities should show the amount actually used on the cause they’re advertising.

This petition was rejected

The Government e-Petitions Team gave the following reason:

Petitions need to call on the UK Government or Parliament to take a specific action.

Charities in England and Wales are regulated by the Charity Commission. That includes deciding whether organisations' activities are charitable and requiring charities to produce an annual report and accounts. You can find out more here:

www.gov.uk/government/collections/how-the-charity-commission-ensures-charities-meet-their-legal-requirements

We're not sure exactly what more you'd like the Government or Parliament to do.

You could start a new petition explaining clearly what you would like the Government or Parliament to do.

You will need to give your full name to start a petition.
