Raise parent earning limit from individual to joint to enable equal childcare

Petition Details

Government will provide 30hours a week free childcare. 1 condition is if an individual earns <£100k. 2 parents both earning <£100k can far exceed the gross income of a family where only 1 individual earns £100k+ e.g. £95k+£60k.

Petition is to enable £200k joint before family no longer qualifies.

- Household allowed 30 hours free child care

Family B
- Parent 1 £101k
- Parent 2 £15k
- Total = £116k
- Household is NOT entitled to free childcare (despite gross income £82k less!)
- Petition to ALLOW this type of scenario to qualify for free child care

This petition will enable Family B parent 2 to increase working hours by accessing equal childcare funding.
